  1. Thank you for your interest in PsL. My name is Nelson Ford, owner of PsL
  2. ["Public (software) Library"].  I have been collecting, testing,
  3. organizing, reviewing and distributing public domain and shareware
  4. software since 1982.

  6. Over the years, PsL has been recognized by virtually every computer
  7. publication and many non-computer publications from Changing Times to
  8. New York Times as having the largest and highest quality collection of
  9. pd/shareware in existence.

  11. Since 1984, we have published the monthly magazine, PsL News, which
  12. reviews all the new and updated pd/shareware programs released each
  13. month.  Two other innovations of PsL several years ago were (1) to
  14. distribute large programs and set of similar programs/files on
  15. high-density 3.5" disks for under $7 (the same software on separate 360k
  16. disks from other vendors costs $15-$20), and (2) to provide an 800#
  17. credit card registration service for shareware authors.  We now take
  18. orders for the authors of over 1200 programs.

  20. In the Summer of 1993, we began distributing a Monthly CD-ROM with all
  21. the new/updated programs written up in PsL News each month.  For as
  22. little as $19.95, users get from 1000 to 1500 new/updated programs each
  23. month plus a different section of our library each month (around 3000
  24. programs), such as Games, Business Apps, Utilities, etc.

  26. All programs are written up by PsL on the CD, tested for viruses and for
  27. quality, and arranged in directories by operating system and category.
  28. Software for DOS and for Windows allows searching the PsL Shareware
  29. Database, reading about the programs, viewing screen shots of many of
  30. the new programs, and installing the programs with the press of a key.
